Meet the Models: Colleen Van Houten

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 31, 2016

Colleen Van Houten, Survivor since 2012 and walking in celebration of her mother, Patricia Kevelighan, a Survivor since 1993 I attended the very first Runway to support a best friend. I encouraged more friends to attend the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Runway. I was diagnosed a month before the 5th Runway. I walked in the 6th and 7th Runways. I referred two friends to walk in the 8th and 9th Runway. I will walk with my 11 year old daughter in the 10th Anniversary Runway. Runway is a giving circle of inspiration, love and fun.   Thank you Runway. You’re…

Meet the Models: Tanya Underwood

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 31, 2016

Tanya Underwood, Walking in memory of her mother, Peggy Underwood (2012) Losing my mom to breast cancer has made me a better mom. Beth Dwyer, Walking in memory of her mother, Jean Lubrano (1998) I am one of 4 sister, Lubrano sisters….and a lone brother (who we would love to rangle to model one year). Our Mother, Jean Hambleton Lubrano, passed away in 98′ after a 20 year battle with the beast we know as Breast Cancer.  Mom was so brave and she left us with the…

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 31, 2016

My Doan, Survivor since 2010 Cancer gives you a sobering perspective on life and while it has left my body and mind with both physical and emotional scars, it has opened my eyes to see what’s important and precious in life. It also brought me closer to my friends and family and allowed me to stay present. I first participated in R4R about 5 years ago, but this year as I surpass my 6-year remission anniversary, I feel especially honored and thrilled to be back on the stage! I will walk to give strength to those who are currently battling,…

Meet the Models: Anne Mills

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 31, 2016

Anne Mills, Survivor since 2006 2016 is my 10 year anniversary post breast cancer diagnosis. During discovery and treatment I truly did not think I would have another 10 years. What a gift these 10 years have been. In 2008 I moved to the Northshore from upstate NY to be nearer my 3 married adult children. In 2008 I also participated in a workshop through my yoga studio that asked me to go deep into my heart to identify what was holding me back from enjoying my life as it was post cancer.  I discovered many things about myself but…
