We Tell Your Story
Part of Runway's mission is to honor the legacies and stories of those who have been impacted by breast cancer. Our blog page is dedicated to helping us share those stories.

Caitlin MacMillen, Walking in memory of her aunt, Candace Williams MacMillen Achtmeyer (2001) Why I walk: THE VILLAGE. It all starts when a small group of inspired people brainstorm the event each year, then the community pitches in with auction items, with clothes & makeup for models to wear, they throw in beverages and food for people to consume, and by the time the stage is lit up, our community becomes ALIVE. We are there to celebrate and honor those among us affected by breast cancer, and to provide a support system that night, then, moving forward, and for future…
Susan Gally, Survivor since 2015 I attended my first Runway for Recovery in 2011. In 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I never dreamed it could be me, yet I found great inspiration and support from having watched the amazing women and their families in previous Runway for Recovery shows. I am grateful for Olivia’s amazing vision and her tireless dedication to create an event that supports families impacted by breast cancer. I am walking to honor those who have helped me, those who have fought the battle and those who might one day need strength and support.

Erin Leary, Survivor since 2014 Getting a breast cancer diagnosis at age 28 was shocking to say the least. As a nurse, I thrive on caring for and supporting others during such uncertain times. I was so fortunate though to have so many kind people reach out to me and show there support during diagnosis, surgery, chemo and radiation. I will remember every thoughtful text, card, care package, and phone call. I am not only grateful for my friends and family, but the acquaintances and even strangers who were so kind to reach out.
