Meet the Models: Anne Mills

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 31, 2016

Anne Mills, Survivor since 2006 2016 is my 10 year anniversary post breast cancer diagnosis. During discovery and treatment I truly did not think I would have another 10 years. What a gift these 10 years have been. In 2008 I moved to the Northshore from upstate NY to be nearer my 3 married adult children. In 2008 I also participated in a workshop through my yoga studio that asked me to go deep into my heart to identify what was holding me back from enjoying my life as it was post cancer.  I discovered many things about myself but…

Meet the Models: Lindsay McGloughlin

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 29, 2016

Lindsay McGloughlin, Survivor first diagnosed in 2013 I am so thrilled to be walking with Runway for Recovery for its spectacular 10th year! Runway has given me a reason to celebrate. I was diagnosed with cancer at age 28 and my son Charlie was only 18 months old. I thought my life was crumbling beneath me. Charlie was my strength, he kept me smiling and gave me something to fight for. He will never truly know how much he helped throughout my battle. After I was done with treatment and surgeries and the dust began to settle I was still…

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 29, 2016

Jenny Clayton, Walking in memory of her mother, Jean Lubrano (1998)  My mom died almost 18 years ago, when I was 38 and my daughter was 7.   I remember thinking that Ellie, who’s walking with me, is never going to know her amazing grandmother the way she should have. Ellie was missing something so special, getting to know her grandmother is something I couldn’t replace. My 3 sisters and I have tried to fill those gaps for all of the kids.  Of course we haven’t been able to fill my mothers shoes but by being a tight and united…

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 29, 2016

Marjorie Blackwell, A survivor since 2009 There is wonder and there is bravery and there is hope- this is the fabulous Runway for Recovery team that I am thrilled to support again this year. This is my third time as a Runway model, and each time I walk I continue to be in awe of the courageous models and the entire Runway support team. As a breast cancer survivor, I have experienced the highs, the lows, the anxieties, the challenges, and best of all the successes. And along the way my family, including those furry members with four legs, have…

Meet the Models: Kathryn Phillips

By Caroline O'Donnell | August 29, 2016

Kathryn Phillips, Survivor since 2010 & walking in memory of her mother, Susan S. Bailis (2000.)  I have learned the incredible power of community in the Runway family, but even more I feel that Runway has literally altered the path of Savannah’s life and has changed the way she views breast cancer. Runway is, without question, Savannah’s favorite day of the year, but additionally it is the most important event in her life. Runway has given her a community (a family really) of support, love and understanding. There is no one who understands better then someone who actually knows. She…
