Meet the Models: Leslie Ghorbani

By Caroline O'Donnell | July 2, 2018

Leslie Ghorbani, Survivor since 2017 My name is Leslie Ghorbani and I am a one year cancer survivor. I am 63 years old. I felt like an animal in front of headlights when I learned of my diagnosis. I was feeling healthier than I had been for some time. I was numb and petrified, frozen in that moment. Gratefully, my family was my rock providing unwavering and loving support. My daughter flew home before my second surgery and spent a week devoted to me. I’m a believer life happens for a reason; constant in change. Seven years ago, we proudly…

Meet the Models: Lorraine Linehan

By Caroline O'Donnell | June 25, 2018

Lorraine Linehan, Survivor since 2011 My story began May 16, 2011; ten days before my 47th birthday. Cancer was detected during an annual mammogram screening. In the days and weeks to follow I had one biopsy procedure that lead to another and yet another. The final result: three tumors in one breast and diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma …. Yikes! A doctor’s appointment, biopsies and many head-spinning conversations later, I was left with a diagnosis of Invasive Breast Cancer. As many others in my place who can understand, I was in complete denial, worried, scared, stressed and wondering about my future….would there even be a future.…

Meet the Models: Monique Tremblay

By Caroline O'Donnell | May 22, 2018

Monique Tremblay, Survivor since 2015 Finding a lump in my breast one night completely changed my life. I called my doctor right away. I had a history of fibroadenomas in the past, but for some reason, I knew this was different. The next few days consisted of endless scans, a biopsy and then getting a call at work that I had breast cancer. My doctor didn’t think my lump was anything to be worried about and it took us both by surprise. I don’t remember much from our phone call, but I knew I was really, really scared. I was healthy,…

Meet the Models: Aisling Kyne

By Caroline O'Donnell | October 12, 2017

Aisling Kyne, Walking in memory of her mother, Ann Kyne (2012.) Intro by Dewey MacMillen (Social Media & Volunteer Coordinator) My name is Aisling Kyne, and I just graduated high school and turned 20 years old in August.  I was born in Galway, Ireland, and I grew up in a loving Irish-Catholic family in South Boston, Massachusetts.  As a child, I enjoyed playing with my two younger brothers, making art, dancing to music all throughout my house, and playing soccer, karate, and track and field.  Unfortunately, I can’t remember much else apart from what I just wrote because cancer wove…
