An Update on Funding Runway Families

Funding our Runway families is the primary focus of our organization. We believe there are tangible ways to make a difference in the lives of children who have lost a mother to breast cancer by paying for wrap-around services for the family. Because of the incredible support of those in attendance at our Virtual Runway Show in October, we raised $293K! Because of you, we can continue to assist families and children who have applied to our Family Grants Program. Most recently, a family who applied for a grant, is made up of an 11-year-old girl and her maternal grandparents.…

Meet the Models: Dorothy Burnham

It was May of 2018, and Dorothy was nursing her infant while her two-year-old was playing with toy trucks at her feet. Dorothy noticed a lumpy area in her left breast. Totally surrounded by all things baby, and having experienced lots of complications nursing her first child, Dorothy assumed the lumpy area had to do with blocked milk ducts, mastitis, or some other breastfeeding condition.

On a warm July night in 2007, I was at Fenway Park, watching the Red Sox with my friend Taylor Blaisdell, who owned a boutique in Concord, MA, chatting about a way to honor my mom’s breast cancer journey.
