My Doan, Survivor since 2010

Cancer gives you a sobering perspective on life and while it has left my body and mind with both physical and emotional scars, it has opened my eyes to see what’s important and precious in life. It also brought me closer to my friends and family and allowed me to stay present. I first participated in R4R about 5 years ago, but this year as I surpass my 6-year remission anniversary, I feel especially honored and thrilled to be back on the stage! I will walk to give strength to those who are currently battling, to honor those who continuously support their loved ones through the road of recovery, but to be living proof that while I had cancer, cancer never had me!
