Meet the Models: Marjorie Blackwell

Marjorie Blackwell, A survivor since 2009

There is wonder and there is bravery and there is hope- this is the fabulous Runway for Recovery team that I am thrilled to support again this year. This is my third time as a Runway model, and each time I walk I continue to be in awe of the courageous models and the entire Runway support team. As a breast cancer survivor, I have experienced the highs, the lows, the anxieties, the challenges, and best of all the successes. And along the way my family, including those furry members with four legs, have been there to keep me thinking positively, smiling and moving forward. And I have Runway for Recovery to thank for making me feel beautiful, powerful, and supported as I started my own recovery journey 7 years ago.

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think,” said Christopher Robin to Pooh. I think Christopher Robin must have been coached by the Runway team because this is exactly how I felt as I made my first walk down the Runway in 2010, and I look forward to sharing this bravery, strength, and smarts with the loving Runway group this October.
