Wyndham Clark Donates $25,000 to Runway for Recovery to Support Families Impacted by Metastatic Breast Cancer

Boston, MA – March 3, 2025 – U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark is turning his personal loss into purpose with a $25,000 donation to Runway for Recovery, a nonprofit that provides direct support to children who have lost a parent to metastatic breast cancer or are navigating a parent’s diagnosis.

Clark, who lost his mother to breast cancer in 2013, has long sought to uplift families facing the same challenges he once did. His generous gift will help fund Runway for Recovery’s wraparound services, including extracurricular activities, summer camp, tutoring, and financial support—all designed to provide stability for children as they process grief and move forward.

“Losing a parent to cancer changes everything,” said Clark. “I know firsthand how important it is for kids to have stability and opportunities to thrive. Runway for Recovery ensures that these families have the support they need, and I’m honored to contribute to their incredible mission.”

As Runway for Recovery expands into a national presence, Clark joins a growing list of high-profile supporters using their platforms to elevate its impact. Just last week, Today Show anchor Hoda Kotb lit up the stage at Runway for Recovery’s inaugural New York City event, stepping onto the catwalk at The Lighthouse, Chelsea Piers to champion the cause. She was joined by Today Show correspondent Kristen Dahlgren and SoulCycle’s Stacey Griffith, both of whom have personally battled breast cancer.

Olivia Boger, Founder and Executive Director of Runway for Recovery, said: “For all of those who understand nonprofit work, we spend our days and weeks reaching out, seeking philanthropically minded people to support our work. When Wyndham’s team found us and explained his desire to donate because of the impact that he saw our work having in LA, it was the single most generous act of unexpected kindness one could hope for. It is inspiring to know that we can now fund more families because of his leadership gift.”

Runway for Recovery’s momentum is building. At the organization’s flagship Boston event in October, bestselling author and breast cancer survivor Elin Hilderbrand walked the runway, knowing all too well the devastating impact of a diagnosis on a family.

For families navigating the loss or ongoing struggle of metastatic breast cancer, Runway for Recovery provides more than financial relief—it offers a community of resilience and hope. With Clark’s support, the organization will continue its mission to ensure that children affected by this disease can still dream, grow, and thrive.
