DESCRIPTION:Thayer Academy Girls’ Lacrosse Play for Runway — Year 2\nFor the second year in a row\, the student athletes of Thayer Academy Girls’ Lacrosse are stepping up as leaders both on and off the field through their Play for Runway event — led by student-athlete organizer Clare Carlin. \nAfter setting a new standard last spring with fourth highest fundraising Play for Runway games nationwide\, Clare and her teammates are building on that incredible momentum. \nAs part of Runway for Recovery’s national Play for Runway initiative\, athletes across the country dedicate games throughout the school year to honoring those impacted by breast cancer while raising critical funds for Runway’s Family Grants Program. These grants provide meaningful financial support to families navigating the challenges of metastatic breast cancer or loss\, helping them maintain a sense of normalcy during an incredibly difficult time. \nAt Thayer Academy\, this mission hits especially close to home. Funds raised through this event directly support families in the local Massachusetts community — making the impact both immediate and deeply personal. \nThrough bake sales\, team fundraising\, and community-wide outreach\, Clare and her teammates are once again rallying their school and supporters to come together for something bigger than the game itself. DESCRIPTION:The Thayer Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse teams will be coming together for the first time to Play for Runway this May. Thayer junior\, Clare Carlin\, heard about Runway because her mother’s business\, Poppies with Purpose\, has been a long-time partner with Runway for Recovery. Clare has inspired her teammates and organized this game at Thayer Academy because of her desire to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by breast cancer. The team will play on May 10th in honor of Runway\, raising money and awareness for our work.
